My Story - Melinda Anderson Field
Last Updated on 4/3/03

The night we graduated I met my husband, Frank Field. I began my career in banking in Tucson that summer. Frank and I married "Friday the 13th" June 1969. (Can you tell I'm not superstitious?) We moved to his home in Corpus Christi, located "Deep in the Heart of South Texas", along the Gulf Coast. We actually live on the Laguna Madre, a large bay off of Padre Island.

I followed in my parent's footsteps purchasing rental houses and apartments. I also continued my career in banking until 1994 when I retired. We have no children, but we do have a black Labrador who feels she should fall into that category. We recently returned from Austin with a "brand new" 6-week-old baby Labrador, our older Lab. was beginning to need an "assistant" during hunting season. My husband is an avid hunter (this IS TEXAS!) therefore, we have a little place in the country south of San Antonio, and we spend quite a bit of time there.
One memorable highlight of our life, which helped us decide what the "next major step" for us would be on our trip down "life's path"; was a 1995 trip to Alaska. We own a motorhome and spent a month (not anywhere NEAR enough time) touring Alaska with a wonderful group. We have decided to join them when my husband retires from the Corpus Christi Fire Dept. in 2001.

Fortunately, we are healthy and happy for which we are extremely thankful...and hope y'all (acceptable English in Texas!) are also. I can always be reached at my email address: mfield13@stx.rr.com.
