My Story - Kathy Black
Last Updated on 07/04/17

I attended the U of A after graduation, married and moved to Sacramento, CA in 1983, divorced and moved to the Fremont/San Jose area to work for Weyerhaeuser Recycling as Western Area Financial Services Manager. I married Felix in 1990, and had Damian in 1991. We moved back to Tucson in 1995, to my great relief. I continued working for Weyerhaeuser to establish a recycling facility and develop a customer base in Tucson, which lasted until 1998, when it was sold to Waste Management.

I became a Realtor, and worked for a non-profit organization for a couple of years before coming to work for Republic Services (dba:Saguaro Environmental Services) in 2001 as the Division Controller. I am still here, and love my job. My husband owns his own landscape construction and maintenance company, and my son is entering his junior year at Mountain View HS.

At this point in my life, I am very content. I remain very close with many of my old high school/jr. high school/elementary school friends, including Jill Kelly (Shields), Becky Midkiff, Carole D'Auria (Bennon), Terry Midkiff, Christy Long (Canfield), Laddie Hall (Stewart), and Kathy Shepherd (Ratajczak).

Of course, the details are the story, but that would take far, far too long. I am looking forward to seeing everyone in October.

Message to Class: Older, but definitely wiser.
