My Story - Kathy Oaks Prinz
Last Updated on 08/24/08

I married shortly after high school and had two daughters, Lisa and Susie. I divorced in 1983 and started working for KMart.

Lisa married but divorced and has since moved to New York where she seems to enjoy the extreme climate changes. Susie and her husband Mike are living in Florida where he owns a custom woodworking company. They have a daughter (my granddaughter) Natalie who was born 3 and a half months premature weighing in at 1 pound 6 ounces. She spent 5 plus months in the hospital but continues to defeat everything life throws at her. She had brain surgery with no complications this month and is home and doing well. She will be three in December.

I spent 4 years in Omaha, Nebraska with my second husband, Chris, and had daughter number three, Kristin who is now 13. We moved back to Tucson in 1997 and shortly after, I started doing daycare in my home. Kristin and her dad started Odyssey of the Mind at her school and last year we traveled to Baltimore for World Finals. Kristin maintains straight A's and still finds time to excel in Karate (almost brown belt) and baton where she competes solo and with a team.

I enjoy spending time with family and all my kids, including the daycare clients, as I tend to treat them as my own. I can't travel enough to visit Natalie in Florida but try to make it there twice a year. Looking forward to catching up with my friends from Catalina.
