After our graduation I attended the UofA, graduating from the College of Earth Sciences in 1972. I started my graduate work in Water Resources at Colorado State University in Fort Collins in the fall of 1972 and married my wife, Carmen (Tucson High – Class of 67), in March, 1973. We have lived in the front range area of Colorado (first Fort Collins, then Lakewood) since then.

I worked with a couple of consulting firms and continued my graduate work at CSU (completing my MS in 1974) until 1980 when I began my “permanent job” with the Bureau of Reclamation in Denver.

With a lot of support and encouragement from my manager, I finished my PhD at CSU in 1983. Most of my work at Reclamation has involved water resources management in the western U.S. – including a lot of really interesting work on management of the Colorado River system (Lake Mead and Lake Powell).

My wife and I raised a son and a daughter. Rick (now 32) works in software development and sales for Standard and Poors in New York City. Rick and his wife have given us two grandsons – Maxwell (2) and Wyatt (6 months). Erica (28) works for the Logan County Social Services Department in Sterling, Colorado.

Message to the Class: Hope you all have a great reunion. Wish I could be there with you and hope you’ll look me up if you’re ever in the Denver area.
