My Story - Dave Callaghan

Last updated 8/20/01
After graduating from high school, I moved to California & worked as a machinist, enjoying the easy California life style. After almost being drafted, I joined Spouse: Teri
Children: Diane, 30; Andy, 13; Chris, 11
Grandchildren: Jacob, 7; Sarah, 5; Emily, 3
the Navy and spent six years in the nuclear field. I was a submariner & while it was fun at the time, I am glad to remember it in the past tense. I did run into Chuck Davis while in Charleston. He had a full beard at the time and if he had not recognized me, I would not have known who he was. It was good to catch up on some old times.

I met my sweetheart & wife Teri in Charleston, SC and we have been married for 24 years. We raised our daughter Diane here in Phoenix, AZ. She married her husband Dale, 10 years ago, a fine young man that I happily call son. What a blessing it is to have a son-in-law that is a great Christian and a fine man too. He works for a local steel company. We have three grandchildren, one boy (Jacob) and two girls (Sarah & Emily) whom I am very proud of.

Teri & I adopted two boys when they were infants, Andy & Chris and we are finding out how different it is to raise boys instead of girls! Andy is now 13 and Chris is 11. They are smart and keep us on our toes!

After leaving the Navy, I worked for a year at a nuclear plant in Oregon and since moving to the Phoenix area in 1978, have worked at the PaloVerde nuclear plant just outside of town. I accepted the Lord in my life 13 years ago and can say with much happiness that he has accepted me too. Our family is active in our church and we enjoy our friends and church family.

I really enjoyed looking at the Catalina web page, photos, stories but was saddened to see the Memorial page. I will try to make it if there is another reunion. My thanks to those helping the class to keep in touch.

Message to the class: Life is precious, love the Lord; if you do not know him you are really missing out!

Love & God Bless!
